Linda Faye Carpenter, 70, of Buckhannon, passed away at 1:32 am on Saturday December 7, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born in Queens on September 15, 1943 a daughter of the late Lennie Darrel Reed and Sylvia Jane Sharp Reed, who survives.
On October 7, 1961 she married the love of her life, Bennie E. Carpenter, who survives. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage together.
Linda is also survived by one sister, Vicki Reed of Buckhannon; four brothers: Clyde Reed, Jerry Reed, Danny Reed and Dana Reed, all of Queens; two sons: Rick (Donna) Carpenter of Volga and Jeff (Penney) Carpenter of Buckhannon; four daughters: Renee (Jeff) Miller in Barboursville VA; Keena (Gerald) Sanders of Buckhannon; Sherry Berkenstock of Clarksburg; Benetta (Paul) Deynzer of Buckhannon; 14 grandchildren: Joey Carpenter, Roxy Wilson, Justin Ritter, Kenna Cable, Nicole Arington, Ryan Miller, Dustin Sanders, Autumn Riley, Cody Berkenstock, Krystin Butcher, Ericka Reed, Devin Carpenter, Logan Carpenter, and Payton Deynzer; 22 great-grandchildren; and her beloved poodles, Sassy and Shiloh, who were her constant companions.
Linda was also preceded in death by one brother, David Reed.
Linda was a retired bookkeeper and tax preparer. She was a talented musician who played the guitar and piano and she sang on the Worship Team at church for many years. She dearly loved family dinners, Jimmy Swaggert, black walnut ice cream, and her new black shiny Lincoln MKZ. She had a special place in her heart for all the adorable little Angels in her life that God sent her as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Going Home Celebration will be held at The Way of Holiness Church on Tuesday, December 10th, 2013 at 12 noon with Pastor Jerry Murrell of The Way of Holiness Church and Frank Spears of The Church of God officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Way of Holiness Church to help cover medical expenses incurred by the family.
